Singer-actress IU has postponed her Goyang concert and new album release due to worsening Eustachian tube dysfunction.
Edam Entertainment, IU’s agency, released an official statement on Monday: After careful consideration. it has decided to reschedule the Goyang Stadium concert planned for September and adjust the timeline for IU’s sixth studio album. This decision prioritizes her health, as they’ve determined her current ear condition makes performing inadvisable.
The agency clarified that while the artist’s symptoms don’t significantly impact her daily life, this decision ensures she can deliver her best performance to fans.
They added that they’re fully committed to supporting IU’s recovery and will do everything possible to ensure she can meet her fans in good health.
IU shared on her fan platform that her chronic Eustachian tube dysfunction has recently worsened. Despite her efforts to manage it, weather changes seem to be affecting it. She wonders if she has pushed herself too hard work-wise over the past few years.
She elaborated that the symptoms have been persistent day and night, making it increasingly difficult to maintain her vocal condition. While she found ways to cope in the recording studio and completed the album, experts advise against performing concerts right now, given the physical demands and sweating involved.
IU expressed her disappointment: She desperately wants to perform, sing, and interact with her fans, but she realizes the September concert isn’t feasible in her current state. She’s truly sorry for disrupting everyone’s plans for the latter half of 2026.
She promised that she’ll undergo treatment, take all necessary measures, and focus on improving her condition. Her goal is to ensure it can definitely be together at the start of 2027. She’s devastated that this long-awaited comeback, which both the company and she worked hard to prepare, has to be postponed. She can’t apologize enough for this delay.
Earlier this year, IU had announced plans for a solo concert at Goyang Comprehensive Stadium. Her last release was the single “Bye, Summer” in September, followed by her appearance in the drama Perfect Crown.
This upcoming release will mark IU’s first full-length album since her fifth studio album Lilac in 2021.
