Dogfit, a pioneering canine wellness center, has taken the concept of dog fitness from South Korea to the global stage.
The center made waves at the Canine Fitness Summit 2026, an international academic event for dog fitness professionals, held on July 25 and 26 at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
This star-studded event brought together about 150 canine rehabilitation and fitness experts. The attendee list was a perfect 50-50 split between veterinary professionals and hands-on trainers, creating a diverse and knowledgeable crowd.
Dogfit’s presence was marked by an impressive lineup of speakers, including their own Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Choi Seung-ae and head coach Byeon Woo-jin. They shared the stage with industry titans like Bobbie Lyons, a trailblazer in dog fitness, Dr. Beth Bauer, a sports medicine guru, and Dr. Sherman Canapp, an orthopedic and rehab specialist. The roster was rounded out by dog sports experts Julie Jenkins, Cassie Hancock, and Kirsten Holt.
Coach Byeon Woo-jin stole the show with three captivating lectures. He delved into Movement as Medicine, presented intriguing case studies, and offered insights on fitness routines for the smaller furry friends.
Byeon’s talks were a goldmine of information, showcasing Dogfit’s real-world experience with canine exercise. He unveiled tailor-made workout plans and clever ways to use various exercise equipment, all based on hands-on practice.
What really got tails wagging was Dogfit’s unique spin on exercise design. Their fresh approach stood out from typical U.S. methods, catching the eye of many attendees.
Reflecting on the experience, CEO Byeon shared that a decade ago, he was the one coming to the U.S. to learn about dog fitness. Now, it’s surreal to be here, sharing Korea’s expertise and field experience on this international platform.
The event wasn’t just talk – Dogfit brought the receipts! They showcased heartwarming before-and-after stories of pups who had been through their program. Videos of these canine transformations had the crowd cheering.
CEO Choi Seung-ae couldn’t contain her excitement, saying that this summit was a game-changer for them. It got to share Dogfit’s philosophy and programs with the world’s best, and they loved it! It’s not stopping here – it’ll keep pushing the boundaries of Korean dog fitness through research and education, and build even more bridges internationally.
