From Liverpool to Trabzonspor: How Mohamed Salah’s Transfer Changes the Game

Mohamed Salah is on the verge of joining Trabzonspor (Türkiye) after concluding his nine-year stint with Liverpool (England).

Sky Sports reported on Wednesday that Salah’s move to Trabzonspor is in its final stages.

Salah traveled to Istanbul, Türkiye on Wednesday, where he is expected to engage in final negotiations with Trabzonspor and undergo medical examinations as part of the signing process.

Salah has been an iconic figure for Liverpool throughout his tenure.

He made 442 official appearances, netting an impressive 257 goals. His trophy cabinet includes two English Premier League (EPL) titles and one Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League (UCL) crown.

However, with his contract set to expire after the 2025-26 season, Salah opted not to renew, ending his nine-year association with Liverpool and becoming a free agent.

Trabzonspor is poised to offer Salah a two-year deal. While the specific terms remain under wraps, Sky Sports suggests it could be the most lucrative contract in the club’s history.

Should Salah join Trabzonspor, he could potentially face off against Oh Hyun-kyu, the South Korean national team forward currently plying his trade at Beşiktaş.

It’s worth noting that Trabzonspor has previously featured Korean talents, including Lee Eul-yong and Seok Hyun-jun.
