Stray Kids member Changbin marked his birthday with a generous donation of 100 million KRW (approximately 70,700 USD) to support pediatric patients and their families.
On Tuesday, JYP Entertainment announced that Changbin had made the contribution of 100 million KRW (approximately 70,700 USD) to Samsung Medical Center in honor of his birthday.
The funds will be equally divided, with 50 million KRW (about 35,300 USD) allocated to treatment costs for pediatric patients and another 50 million KRW (about 35,300 USD) for emotional support programs benefiting patients’ families.
Expressing his gratitude, Changbin stated that the overwhelming love from the fans has enabled him to make this meaningful contribution on my birthday. He sincerely hopes that his gesture reaches those in need and offers a glimmer of hope and comfort.
This act of generosity is part of Changbin’s ongoing commitment to charitable causes. In 2023, he joined the prestigious Honors Club after donating to earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria through the international aid organization The Promise.
Last year, Changbin also made a birthday donation to Samsung Medical Center, supporting surgery and treatment costs for underprivileged pediatric patients and funding emotional support programs. Furthermore, he and his Stray Kids bandmates contributed to wildfire recovery efforts in South Korea’s Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk regions through Hope Bridge (National Disaster Relief Association). The group also extended their support internationally, donating to World Vision Hong Kong for fire disaster recovery.
Stray Kids, who debuted in 2018, have become a global sensation, particularly in North America. Their hit tracks include “God’s Menu,” “Back Door,” “Maniac,” “Thunderous,” “S-Class,” “Chk Chk Boom,” and “CEREMONY.” The group made history last year as the first international act to achieve eight consecutive No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
