Red Velvet’s Wendy takes a firm stance against malicious comments about her appearance.

On Wednesday, Wendy’s agency, Ascend (ASND), released a statement addressing the ongoing issue of harmful posts and comments targeting the artist’s physical appearance, including derogatory remarks and sexual objectification.

The agency emphasized that actions such as sexually explicit comments about the artist’s body, mockery of her appearance, and the malicious spread of false information are clear cases of defamation, not mere opinions or expressions of free speech.

Ascend warned that they will actively respond to any violations of the artist’s rights, collecting evidence from both current and future malicious posts, regardless of their perceived severity.

Wendy is currently promoting Red Velvet’s latest single “Surfin’ Boy,” released on August 3. Her recent weight loss has sparked concern among fans.
