K-pop sensation Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has shattered records in Japan once again.
Oricon reported on Wednesday that TXT’s fifth Japanese single “Setsuna Hanabi” claimed the top spot on the latest Weekly Digital Single Ranking for the week of August 31 (covering August 17-23).
This marks TXT’s first-ever No. 1 on this particular chart. The quintet, consisting of Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai, also made impressive showings on other charts during the same period, landing at No. 2 on both the Weekly Combined Single Ranking and Weekly Single Ranking, while securing the No. 6 spot on the Weekly Streaming Ranking.
“Setsuna Hanabi” continued to make waves on Billboard Japan. In the latest Hot 100 chart (August 17-23) released on Wednesday, TXT achieved their first-ever No. 1 hit. The track also topped key music charts including Hot Shot Song and Download Song, solidifying the group’s growing popularity in Japan.
The single’s success extended to other Billboard Japan charts, ranking No. 2 on Top Single Sales and No. 22 on Streaming Song. It also clinched the No. 2 spot on Line Music’s Weekly Song Chart (August 19-25).
“Setsuna Hanabi” is a poignant track that metaphorically compares the inevitable moment of separation to summer night fireworks fading into darkness. The raw emotion in the song is amplified by the members’ nuanced vocal performances, creating a deeply moving listening experience.
Following their new release, TXT has been actively promoting in Japan. The group recently held a premium live performance at Tokyo Garden Theater on August 19, entertaining over 6,000 fans. Their promotional schedule includes upcoming appearances on TV Asahi’s “Music Station” on August 28, NHK’s “Venue101” on August 29, and TBS’s “CDTV Live! Live!” on August 31.
Since their debut in 2019, TXT has consistently delivered hit songs including “Crown,” “Run Away,” “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You),” and “Sugar Rush Ride.” The group’s electrifying performances and global appeal continue to solidify their status as one of K-pop’s most promising acts.
