Stray Kids has made history as the first international male act to perform at Tokyo’s National Stadium.
JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced on Tuesday that Stray Kids held concerts for their new world tour RUN IT at Tokyo’s National Stadium on August 29 and 30.
The K-pop sensation not only became the first overseas male artists to hold a solo concert at this prestigious venue but also drew a staggering 140,000 fans over two days. Including paid online streaming and live viewing for the second day, the total audience reached an impressive 175,000.
The electrifying show kicked off with The Biography and featured fan-favorites like “Hellevator,” “Side Effects,” “MANIAC,” “God’s Menu,” “Thunderous,” “S-Class,” and “THIS and THAT.” The group also debuted live performances of “Just a Little” and “FATE” from their Japanese mini-album Hollow.
Expressing their gratitude, the members told the audience that this has become an unforgettable day. Thank you for creating such a spectacular scene with them. It loves you all.
In a thrilling announcement on the final day, Stray Kids revealed additional shows at Tokyo Dome from November 6-8. The group’s Japan tour will also include performances at Vantelin Dome Nagoya (Nov. 5-6), Kyocera Dome Osaka (Nov. 19-20), and Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka (Oct. 24). With the National Stadium shows, the total expected attendance for their ten Japanese concerts is a whopping 520,000.
The RUN IT tour launched with five sold-out shows at Seoul’s KSPO Dome on July 25-26 and August 1-2.
Stray Kids’ latest mini-album THIS and THAT, released on August 7, topped the Billboard 200 chart, marking their ninth No. 1 album on this prestigious ranking.
