Netflix Unveils K-Pop Audition Project “We Go High”

On Wednesday, Netflix announced the launch of its K-pop audition project, “We Go High,” featuring students from South Korea’s elite arts high schools competing for their school’s honor and their dreams. The streaming giant has begun recruiting participants for this exciting new venture.

“We Go High” is a K-pop girl group audition project set in an arts high school where students pursue their passions. The show aims to capture the raw ambition of these young artists as they strive for greater heights, echoing the project’s aspirational title.

The project plans to showcase top-tier students from South Korean arts high schools as they face off against worthy rivals, creating electrifying synergy. “We Go High” is poised to expand K-pop’s global fandom through Netflix, offering audiences worldwide the chance to witness the birth of a girl group chosen by international viewers.

Applications are open to first- and second-year students currently enrolled in high schools with arts or broadcasting-related majors, as well as those set to enroll in the 2027 academic year.

Montsera House’s Park Jin-kyung and Lee Jae-seok will helm the production and direction. Park’s credits include “My Little Television,” “Dunia: Into a New World,” and “Zombieverse,” while Lee has worked on “My Little Television,” “Change Days,” and “The Influencer.”

In a strategic move, Netflix and SM C&C have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to support the group’s growth and activities beyond their debut. Both companies are committed to nurturing and backing the debut girl group in various aspects following the show’s conclusion.
