ILLIT’s new album is making a splash in the music scene.

Hanteo Chart reported on Tuesday that ILLIT’s mini album BREAK EVEN sold an impressive 382,991 copies on its release day, claiming the top spot on the daily album chart.

This marks a significant 40% increase from their previous mini album MAMIHLAPINATAPAI, which sold 276,145 copies on its first day.

The title track “You’re Under Arrest” is also dominating music charts. After debuting at No. 72 on Melon’s Top 100 at 7:00 p.m. (KST) on Monday, it skyrocketed 53 spots in just four hours, reaching No. 19 by 11:00 p.m. (KST). The song has also secured top positions on Bugs and Genie’s real-time charts.

ILLIT is making waves in Japan as well. “You’re Under Arrest” is charting alongside their previous hit “It’s Me” on Line Music’s real-time chart. The entire album has also made its way onto AWA Music’s real-time rising chart, garnering significant attention.

The music video for “You’re Under Arrest” is also a hit, surpassing 4 million views on YouTube within 12 hours of its release. As of 9:00 a.m. (KST) on Tuesday, it has trended on music charts in 19 countries and regions, including the U.S. and U.K.

ILLIT’s mini album BREAK EVEN tells a story of the group realizing their feelings for someone were unrequited, leading them to declare that it won’t continue a relationship that’s causing it harm.

The title track “You’re Under Arrest” is an electro-pop banger that serves as a warning to someone who has misinterpreted their habitual kindness. The song features a catchy whistle hook, sharp synths, and punchy vocal effects.
