Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s youngest daughter, Vivian, has officially dropped her father’s surname. On Monady, Page Six and other media outlets reported that the Los Angeles Superior Court approved Vivian’s petition for a name change. Her legal name has now been altered from Vivian Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivian Marcheline Jolie.
Vivian filed for the name change shortly after her 18th birthday in July. Court documents cited personal reasons for her decision to remove Pitt from her name.
Even before the legal change, Vivian had been using only her mother’s surname in public. She was credited as Vivian Jolie for her work on the 2024 musical Outsiders, which she co-produced with her mother, Angelina Jolie.
This makes Vivian the fourth of Jolie and Pitt’s six children to legally drop the Pitt surname. Her sister Shiloh, who turned 18 in 2024, changed her name to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie in August of that year. Siblings Maddox and Zahara also received court approval in September to become Maddox Chivan Jolie and Zahara Marley Jolie, respectively.
Vivian’s twin brother, Knox, has also removed Pitt from his high school diploma, though it’s unclear if he has legally changed his name.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are parents to six children: biological daughter Shiloh (born 2006), twins Knox and Vivian (born 2008), and adopted children Maddox (born 2001), Pax (born 2003), and Zahara (born 2005).
The couple finalized their divorce in December 2024, concluding an eight-year legal battle that began with their separation in 2016. Sources close to Brad Pitt suggest he’s deeply affected by the growing distance between him and his children.
