K-pop sensation ILLIT is set to grace Japan’s premier year-end music festival for the third year running.
Belift Lab, the group’s management company, announced that ILLIT has secured a spot in the opening night lineup of Fuji TV’s 2026 FNS Music Festival, scheduled to air on December 2.
The FNS Music Festival, a staple of Japanese television since 1974, is a highly anticipated year-end music extravaganza featuring the year’s most prominent artists. ILLIT’s consistent presence on this prestigious stage since 2024, even before dropping their official Japanese album, underscores their rising star power in the Land of the Rising Sun. Their appearance in the 2026 FNS Music Festival Summer special further cemented their popularity among Japanese audiences.
This year’s invitation marks a significant milestone for ILLIT, as it represents their third consecutive appearance on the show.
ILLIT’s Japanese success story is backed by impressive numbers. Their debut track “Magnetic” and their first Japanese original “Almond Chocolate” have both hit major milestones, with the Recording Industry Association of Japan certifying them Triple Platinum (over 300 million streams) and Platinum (over 100 million streams) respectively.
Riding this wave of success, ILLIT clinched the 34th spot on Billboard Japan’s mid-year Artist 100 chart, outperforming all other international female acts during that period.
Since their March 2024 debut, ILLIT has been on a roll, churning out hits like “Magnetic,” “Not Cute Anymore,” and “It’s Me.”
The group recently dropped their fifth mini-album Break Even on October 26. The title track “You’re Under Arrest” is already making waves with its irresistibly catchy melody.
