North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un reportedly visited flood victims who relocated to Pyongyang following a recent heavy rain in the North Pyongyang Province.
According to the state-run media Rodong Sinmun, over 13,000 residents – including children, students, senior citizens, the sick, honorably discharged soldiers, and mothers of young children- arrived in Pyongyang the day before and moved into their assigned accommodations.
Kim personally visited the accommodations to meet with displaced victims of the flood.
The report explained that these individuals are housed at the 4.25 Hotel and a military training base in the capital.
In his welcoming speech, Kim explained, “The 4.25 Hotel is where representatives stay during major national meetings, and the military training base has been specially arranged to provide the necessary conditions and environment for soldiers participating in the parade. I hope you treat this place like your home and spend your time here without concerns.”
He emphasized the importance of restoring flood-affected areas and transforming them into urbanization, modernization, and civilization models in rural settings. He promised that the places severely damaged by the floods would soon undergo remarkable changes and become prosperous. He also expressed gratitude to the flood victims.
“I thank you again for your unwavering trust and support for the Party. Our people’s faith is the greatest and most valuable treasure that is not comparable to material wealth. To repay your trust, I will not avoid hardship.”
Kim personally visited the dining hall so that the children could check on their meals.
Following the recent flooding in the North Pyongyang Province, Kim has visited the region to oversee recovery efforts. He also proposed a plan to relocate displaced victims to Pyongyang, highlighting the state’s commitment to caring for perilous residents.
North Korea reportedly deployed mobile education units for children’s education and cultural development and mobile medical units for treating patients and caring for the elderly in this location.
Kim visited the flood-affected areas in Uiju County, North Pyongan Province, last week. He announced plans to relocate over 15,400 flood victims to Pyongyang during his visit. This group includes 2,198 preschool children, 384 students, 4,524 elderly individuals, 265 sick or wounded veterans, and 4,096 mothers with young children.
