According to a Workers’ Party newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, the Russian Ministry of Culture delegation is set to visit North Korea on the 12th.
The visit by the Russian Ministry of Culture delegation, led by Deputy Minister Andrey Malyshev, will be made in time for the 75th anniversary of the signing of the North Korea-Russia economic and cultural cooperation agreement.
The delegation is visiting North Korea at the invitation of the North Korean Ministry of Culture. While the newspaper did not mention the duration or purpose of their visit, they are expected to discuss ways to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Since the summit meeting between North Korean Workers’ Party Secretary Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin last year, North Korea and Russia have been expanding their areas of cooperation, including arms trade.
This year alone, North Korea has sent delegations to Russia, such as the agricultural technology delegation, the Workers’ Party delegation, the North-Russia Fisheries Joint Committee delegation, and the Ministry of Sports delegation.
