On May 16, North Korea highlighted the construction of the new Vanguard Street in Pyongyang, emphasizing the party’s achievements and praising the loyalty of the young people to its youth-oriented ideology.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, the Rodong Sinmun, highlighted this through a report by the Korean Central News Agency. It stated that the completion of Vanguard Street “proves the validity and vitality of our great party’s youth-oriented ideology, which has nurtured our young people into heroes of the era and giants of creation.” The newspaper praised the achievements of the young people, calling the new street a “proud monument to the youth spirit of Mount Paektu and their indomitable struggle,” while also emphasizing the Party’s success in promoting the youth-oriented ideology.

The newspaper mentioned that the construction project was an opportunity to “cultivate our youth ideologically, to train them revolutionarily, and to accelerate today’s revolutionary advance with the fighting spirit of our young vanguard, the hot-blooded youth, leading the new era of national prosperity.”

The efforts of Kim Jong Un were also mentioned. The newspaper explained that Kim personally encouraged the young people at the groundbreaking ceremony last year and sent gifts such as a diary titled My Youth Days, food, and fruits during the construction process, “infusing them with limitless strength and courage.” The newspaper also propagated that the “driving force that made the construction site of Vanguard Street boil with the lava of miracles and creation of heroic deeds” was “the love of (Kim Jong Un) Marshal, who nurtured and promoted our young people with all his heart as brave fighters carrying on the tradition of loyalty and patriotism, and as honorable builders of socialism.”

The newspaper also introduced the reactions of residents from all walks of life who heard the news of the completion of Vanguard Street, stating that “the future of our homeland, which has a heroic youth army like no other in the world, is bright,” and encouraged the loyalty of the young people.

A youth from Kim Il Sung University said, “Through the struggle of large-scale construction, our young people have once again grown into mature revolutionaries who have cultivated loyalty, dedication, collectivism, and optimism. I am determined to fulfill my responsibilities and duties as a young league worker in carrying forward the party’s youth-oriented ideology.”

With the attendance of Kim, North Korea completed the new Vanguard Street in the northern part of Pyongyang in just over a year and held a grand completion ceremony on May 14th.

Unlike other projects, this housing construction project was carried out by young people, including the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, which seems to continue promoting the party’s youth-oriented ideology and fostering the loyalty of the young people through it.
