North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, as reported by the Workers’ Party official newspaper Rodong Sinmun on Wednesday.

The newspaper stated that on Tuesday, Kim warmly welcomed Shoigu to Pyongyang on the significant occasion of the first anniversary of the treaty establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia. Kim also received a verbal message from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During their talks, the leaders exchanged views on complex international and regional situations, as well as matters of mutual interest. The newspaper claimed that complete agreement was reached on these issues.

On page 2, the newspaper reported that Premier Pak Thae-song conducted on-site inspections of various economic sectors. Pak visited the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, farms in Sin’gye County, the Daepung Additives Factory, the Pyongyang Poultry Equipment Factory, and the Agricultural Science Institute’s High-Tech Exchange Center. The newspaper also featured a letter of gratitude to Kim Jong Un from Korean students in Japan, celebrating the 79th anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union.

Page 3 emphasized the importance of leadership in earning public respect. The newspaper stressed that authentic leadership is defined by public recognition. It also highlighted the Cultural Ministry’s plans for targeted lectures and propaganda teams, emphasizing the importance of reflecting reality to resonate with the audience.

On page 4, it was reported that the Chinese Embassy in North Korea hosted a banquet on Tuesday to celebrate the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations. The Ministry of Health hosted an event at the Blood Donation Center in celebration of World Blood Donor Day, expressing gratitude to donors and highlighting the importance of blood donation campaigns.

Page 5 reported significantly increased wheat and barley harvests nationwide compared to last year. Rural areas have begun autumn planting of these crops. Various organizations, including the Pyongyang City Power Distribution and Transmission Bureau, are actively supporting schools and kindergartens in Pyongyang to ensure the education of future generations.

Page 6 covered Israel’s military attack on Iran on June 13. The newspaper stated that many countries strongly condemned Israel’s actions as violations of the United Nations (UN) Charter and international law. In Pyongyang, educational institutions are conducting anti-imperialist and class education tailored to students’ psychological characteristics.
