As North Korea approaches its Victory Day on July 27 – the anniversary of the Korean War armistice agreement – the regime is intensifying its anti-American rhetoric and bolstering internal unity.

The Workers’ Party’s newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published a provocative article on page six on Sunday titled “The Myth of American Power, Shattered in the Korean War.” The piece boldly claimed that the United States, with its vast economic resources and military might, never expected defeat. The article described the war as a “David vs. Goliath battle of infantry rifles against atomic bombs,” claiming that North Korea emerged victorious against all odds.

The propaganda piece emphasized that the key to their revolutionary triumph wasn’t superior weaponry, but rather the exceptional leadership of Kim Il Sung and the united resolve of the North Korean people, who were convinced of the legitimacy of their cause.

The article hammered home the point that even a small nation can vanquish a powerful foe if its people stand united behind their leader, prepared to fight to the bitter end.

Traditionally, North Korea designates the period from June 25 to Victory Day as Anti-U.S. Joint Struggle Month, marked by rallies designed to stoke anti-American sentiment.

The newspaper declared North Korea has ascended to the status of the world’s strongest nation, demanding that the United States cease its alleged provocations.

The article stated that North Korea has attained such formidable strength that no enemy dares to challenge it lightly. It concluded with a stark warning that as the world’s preeminent nuclear power, North Korea stands as the guardians of peace, fully prepared to utterly annihilate their enemies’ strongholds of aggression if they foolishly provoke the nation.
