North Korea has issued a heavy rain warning for the Pyongyang area, emphasizing the need for thorough safety measures to prevent damage across all sectors of the people’s economy and affected regions.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Tuesday that the State Hydro-Meteorological Service has announced heavy rainfall, with hourly precipitation of 30 to 70mm (about 1.2 to 2.8 inches) expected from that night until the following morning. The affected areas include Pyongyang and regions south of the central part, such as Chungsan, Unnyul, and Poptong County. Occasional thunderstorms and strong gusts were also anticipated.

The front page featured an article titled, Internalizing the Spirit and Fighting Style of the Party’s Founding Generation is the Primary Revolutionary Task for Cadres. The paper reiterated that significant projects aimed at improving public welfare are currently underway simultaneously, emphasizing the critical importance of cadres’ fighting spirit in these efforts.

On the second page, an article titled, The Great Patriotic World Embodied in the Fragrance of the Musk Deer, praised Kim Il Sung. The musk deer song, a prominent orchestral piece in North Korea, was reportedly a favorite of Kim.

The third page reported on the opening ceremony of the central photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Korea, titled, The Great Victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Brilliant Inheritance. The event took place on Monday at the People’s Palace of Culture. The Minister of Culture emphasized the need to fulfill current responsibilities and duties to welcome the 9th Party Congress with significant achievements.

An article on the fifth page, Important Issues in the Construction of Coastal Aquaculture Facilities in Cities and Counties, announced plans to modernize infrastructure by improving the quality of aquaculture materials and various production means. North Korea had previously expressed its intention to expand coastal aquaculture facilities nationwide on an annual basis.

The sixth page featured an article titled, Rejecting U.S. Pressure Tactics, reporting that U.S. leadership (President Donald Trump) threatened in July that India would face additional penalties for purchasing Russian weapons and petroleum. The article also claimed that, according to recent statements, India would no longer buy Russian oil.
