North Korea emphasized its revolutionary spirit by conducting artillery drills and is nearing the completion of its five-year economic development plan.

The Workers’ Party newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported on Tuesday that a firing drill competition involving tactical artillery units under the combined formations of the Korean People’s Army took place on Monday.

The newspaper stated that the purpose of the competition was to rigorously evaluate the proficiency of tactical artillery units in fire support combat operations and to disseminate best practices from exemplary units throughout the military. Deputy Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Pak Jong-chon, observed the training alongside Chief of General Staff Ri Yong-gil.

The front page featured an article titled, Let’s Complete the Korean Revolution with the Spirit of Mount Paektu, urging citizens to redouble their efforts to successfully achieve this year’s objectives and confidently advance from one revolutionary stage to the next, reaching new heights of development.

Page 3 reported on a housewarming celebration in Ilbong-ri, Sŏnchŏn County. The newspaper emphasized that residents expressed their commitment to support the Party by increasing rice production, taking pride in their role as custodians of a culturally vibrant rural community, and pledging to enhance scientific farming methods and boost crop yields.

Page 4 highlighted the achievements of the Chongsong Youth Coal Mine. Despite challenging conditions, the mine consistently met its production targets while effectively managing extensive construction projects aimed at reinforcing and expanding its production capabilities, the newspaper reported.

Page 5 featured the Pyongyang City Power Distribution Department, South Hamgyong Province Power Distribution Department, Eunyul Mine, and Sonbong Thermal Power Plant. The article stressed that every unit’s competitive achievements serve as a powerful catalyst for current production efforts and patriotic endeavors, urging all to engage more boldly in socialist competition.

Page 6 reported that Yonsan County is meeting most of the military’s construction material needs by producing a variety of products, including exterior materials, paving blocks, and insulation components. The newspaper attributed this success to efforts to boost public morale and to fully harness the creative ingenuity of those responsible for developing and implementing new technologies.
