North Korea has publicized news of Kim Jong Un’s visit to China in a newspaper accessible to its citizens. This move appears to be aimed at highlighting the Supreme Leader’s diplomatic efforts and emphasizing improved North Korea-China relations.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, reported on Friday that Comrade Kim, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, will soon visit the People’s Republic of China. The visit comes at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People’s Republic of China, to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Anti-Japanese War and the global anti-fascist war.

Earlier, on Thursday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry and North Korea’s Korean Central News Agency jointly announced Kim’s upcoming visit to China. However, specific details regarding the itinerary have not yet been disclosed.

North Korea is expected to continue emphasizing North Korea-China relations in its media coverage leading up to Kim’s visit. Extensive reporting is anticipated, covering everything from Kim’s departure to his arrival in China and participation in various victory celebration events.
