
North Korea promptly reported on the meeting between Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as well as Kim’s subsequent departure.
The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, stated September 5 that the esteemed Comrade Kim, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), held discussions with Comrade Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of the People’s Republic of China, on the afternoon of September 4 at the Great Hall of the People.
The newspaper further conveyed that Comrade Kim expressed his gratitude for the warm and exceptional hospitality extended to the DPRK delegation by the Chinese party, government, and people. He congratulated them on successfully hosting the grand political celebration commemorating the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Further, Kim observed that this event demonstrated China’s steadfast determination to safeguard world peace and clearly highlighted China’s significant international standing and influence.
According to the newspaper, President Xi remarked that China and North Korea are excellent neighbors with a shared destiny who support one another, and that they are true friends and comrades. He added that the Chinese party and government deeply value the traditional friendship between China and North Korea and are committed to vigorously protecting, strengthening, and developing the relationship between the two nations.
The second page reported that Kim departed from Beijing following the conclusion of his visit to China.
The third page highlighted Kim’s diplomatic achievements, noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message, while Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith and Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega sent flower baskets to him.
The fourth page emphasized the importance of talent by stating that the party regards the education sector for nurturing talent as the foremost frontline in building a robust socialist nation, surpassing all other fields.
The fifth page asserted that the essential quality required of economic leaders is a high political consciousness, urging all such leaders to internalize this principle and commit to enhancing their political awareness.
The sixth page called for a stronger anti-imperialist class consciousness, declaring that the history of U.S. aggression against Korea is marred by unspeakably bloody atrocities. It stressed that as generations change and the revolution progresses, this consciousness must be further deepened.
