Reports suggest that U.S. President Donald Trump is discussing a potential surprise meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. This news has triggered a concurrent rally in stocks related to inter-Korean economic cooperation.

As of 9:23 a.m. on Monday, stocks categorized as inter-Korean cooperation plays are experiencing significant surges. Notable examples include Codes Combine (047770) up 19.25%, Good People rising 15.84%, and Ananti gaining 5.52%.

Previously, CNN reported on October 18, citing multiple sources, that the Trump administration is privately discussing the possibility of a meeting between President Trump and Chairman Kim during the President’s upcoming Asia tour next month.

However, experts suggest that the chances of this meeting materializing are slim. The report indicates that no concrete plans have been made for the meeting. Furthermore, unlike during President Trump’s first term, there is currently no direct communication channel between the U.S. and North Korea.
