The Chinese Embassy in North Korea hosted a reception on October 25 marking the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Army’s participation in the Korean War, thereby underscoring the deep ties between the two nations.

North Korea’s state-run newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on October 26 that Chinese Ambassador Wang Yajun had held the event at the embassy in Pyongyang.

Key attendees included Defense Minister No Kwang-chol, Deputy Director of the Workers’ Party Central Committee Moon Sung-hyok, Vice Foreign Minister Park Myung-ho, and a visiting delegation from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

The newspaper further noted that Ambassador Wang and Kim Song-nam, head of the Party Central Committee’s International Department, laid wreaths at the Friendship Tower, the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army Martyrs’ Cemetery, and at the graves of individual martyrs.

On the front page, Choe Ryung-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, was shown inspecting coal mines and farms in South Pyongan Province. Choe emphasized the crucial role of coal production and scientific agriculture in bolstering the nation’s economy and improving living standards.

Page 3 covered a settling-in ceremony for new residents in Kyongwon County. Party and government officials from North Hamgyong Province and Kyongwon County joined construction workers and farmers in expressing their gratitude to the party leadership.
