
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un conducted an inspection of a key military production facility, focusing on missile and artillery shell manufacturing.
The state-run Rodong Sinmun reported on its front page on Friday that Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, visited critical defense industry enterprises to assess missile and shell production for the fourth quarter.
Kim stressed that the Missile Bureau and relevant departments of the Second Economic Committee must be fully prepared to unconditionally accept and implement the modernization and production targets to be set at the upcoming 9th Party Congress.
On page two, the newspaper reported that Kim sent a wreath on Thursday to express condolences over the death of Kim Chang-sun, deputy chairman of the State Affairs Commission. It also said that several farms in Nampo City held ceremonies to mark the occupancy of newly built housing.
