North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, pledging unconditional support for all of Putin’s policies and decisions.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, released the full text of Kim’s response letter to President Putin on Friday, which was sent the previous day.

In the letter, Kim expressed his delight in receiving Putin’s warm congratulatory message, stating that this reaffirmed the genuine comradely relationship between them. He treasures the friendship as my most prized possession and a source of pride.

He further noted that their close cooperation would continue in various fields, in line with the spirit of the comprehensive strategic partnership between North Korea and Russia.

Kim emphasized that he will unconditionally respect and support all your policies and decisions, and he stands ready to always be with Putin and Russia. He stressed that this commitment is unchanging and eternal.

The newspaper’s reference to this as a response letter suggests that President Putin had previously sent a congratulatory message to Kim. However, the specific contents of Putin’s message have not been disclosed through North Korean media.

The timing of Kim’s response, coinciding with his reported birthday on Thursday, has led to speculation that Putin’s letter may have been a birthday greeting.

It’s worth noting that Kim also sent a congratulatory message to President Putin on his birthday last October.
