North Korea has showcased its progress in constructing the first district of the Aedo tidal flat in North Pyongan Province.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Thursday that the completion ceremony for the first district of the Aedo tidal flat took place on-site on Wednesday. The newspaper stated that a circular road has been established along the extensive embankments connecting Sinbong-ri, Aedo-bong, and Ilhae-ri villages. This development has transformed thousands of hectares of vast tidal flats into new land, reshaping the nation’s map and laying a solid foundation for agricultural advancement and improved living standards for the citizens.

Page 2 reported that the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly bestowed exemplary law-abiding unit titles upon model organizations that strengthen socialist legal practices. Additionally, it announced the presentation of the 26th Model Enterprise Honor Award to exemplary units that have accelerated the modernization and digitalization of machinery and production processes, while also enhancing workers’ technical skills and scientific knowledge.

On page 3, the North Pyongan Provincial Party Committee highlighted its organizational and political efforts in preparation for the 9th Party Congress. As part of this initiative, provincial party officials responsible for the area emphasized that they are continuously reinforcing the roles while rigorously evaluating the implementation of party policies since the beginning of the year.

Page 4 highlighted the active support for western district coal mines from North Pyongan and Jagang Provinces. The Musan Mining Complex claimed that it is exceeding last year’s average production plan by over 103%, and is in the final stages of preparing for this year’s first large-scale explosion of 1 million tons (about 2 billion lb). The page also featured ongoing coverage of the 2025 Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Achievements in the People’s Economy at the 3 Revolution Exhibition Hall’s Information Industry Hall.

Page 5 featured an article titled, Let’s Intensify the High-Yield Movement in Rural Areas, emphasizing that to achieve a bountiful harvest across the nation’s rural regions, it must further promote high-yield activities. It reported that Rinsan County is actively pursuing efforts to produce wheat threshers and enhance tractor performance through modification projects.

On page 6, an article titled, The Dehumanizing Poison of Western-Style Democracy, argued that in a capitalist society founded on private ownership of the means of production and inherent inequality, true freedom and democracy cannot exist. It asserted that western-style democracy fundamentally contradicts human nature’s inherent needs and represents the most reactionary system of all.
