North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a livestock farm in Unjon County, North Pyongan Province, emphasizing the modernization of rural areas.

The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Tuesday that the grand opening ceremony of the Samgwang Livestock Farm took place on Monday. The farm is touted as a model for building socialist rural communities and developing the livestock industry in the new era. The report stated that Kim attended the ceremony.

In his address, Kim highlighted that the Samgwang Livestock Farm represents a proud achievement that underscores a key aspect of the 8th Central Committee’s work. He stressed that this initiative is not merely for show but serves as a new starting point to chart the future development of rural areas and livestock, setting innovative standards.

After touring the dairy production facilities, Kim remarked that the quality rivals that of central products. He emphasized the need to continuously advance the automation and digitalization of production processes. Kim also noted the expansion of industrial elements in rural areas and urged for policy support to promote this development.

The newspaper reported that the opening of the Samgwang Livestock Farm marks a significant milestone in the Workers’ Party of Korea’s efforts to transform all rural areas into socialist utopias with improved living and working conditions. It also plays a crucial role in advancing the country’s livestock industry on a modern foundation.

On page 5, the paper reported that a central photo exhibition opened in celebration of the 84th birthday of Kim Jong Il. It also mentioned that a completion ceremony for the Kyungpo Youth Camp took place on Monday in South Hamgyong Province.
