
North Korea continues to rally its citizens’ ideological commitment following the recent conclusion of the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party.
The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, featured a front-page article on Tuesday titled, The Capital Seethes with Excitement. The paper reported that workers at the Sangwon Cement Complex are eager to meet the party’s expectations and are demonstrating their drive and practical efforts in line with the new transformative goals set by the 9th Congress.
Page 2 highlighted a grand performance commemorating the party congress called, A Song Dedicated to the Mother Party, held at the Pyongyang Gymnasium. The newspaper stated that the immortal achievements of the Workers’ Party of Korea unfolded in an epic tableau, noting that commanders and soldiers who participated in the parade, along with workers and students from the capital, attended the performance.
Page 3 featured an article titled, Let’s Deeply Internalize the Ideologies and Tasks Presented by the 9th Congress. The paper emphasized the need to innovate leadership and management across all economic activities to successfully implement the new five-year plan, stressing the importance of qualitatively strengthening the production base in the heavy industry sector.
Page 4 reported on various slogans, banners, and propaganda materials displaying the campaign program proposed by the party congress, which have been posted nationwide. The newspaper included a photo of a propaganda piece with white text on a red background that read, Everyone, let’s implement the decisions of the 9th Party Congress!
Page 5 contained an article titled, With High Morale, We Have Embarked on the March to Implement the New Five-Year Plan. The newspaper particularly urged citizens to focus on increasing production of steel, coal, and electricity.
Page 6 featured an article titled, Let’s Thoroughly Implement Forest Fire Prevention Measures. The paper warned of expected strong winds and dry weather, urging forest supervisors and fire watchers to intensify patrols and properly install firebreaks to effectively manage forest fire prevention.
