North Korea has highlighted the role of women in achieving the goals set by the 9th Congress of the Workers’ Party, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8.
The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published a prominent editorial on its front page on March 8, titled, Let Korean Women Fully Demonstrate Their Revolutionary Spirit in the Transformative Struggle to Usher in a New Era of National Prosperity.
The editorial emphasized the presence of women in key economic sectors and celebrated the women’s national team’s victory in last year’s International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) U-17 World Cup.

An article on page 6 was titled, Capitalism: A Society that Devalues Women and Undermines Women’s Rights.
