North Korea emphasized sector-specific directives to implement decisions from the 9th Party Congress, highlighting the people’s philosophy and production achievements.

The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, published a front-page editorial title, Embrace the People’s Philosophy as Our Guiding Principle. The paper declared that prioritizing the people and dedicating oneself to their service are the party’s revolutionary traditions and unwavering principles. It stressed that all officials must fully embody the ideology of putting the masses first. The editorial defined a true party official as one who considers serving the people the highest honor and takes pride in dedicating themselves to the public good.

Page 2 featured an extensive report on the transformation of Wihwa Island at the Yalu River’s mouth. The paper described the island’s rapid development, including the Sinuiju Comprehensive Greenhouse Farm, modern residential areas, and vast canola fields, as a dramatic shift from the depths of misfortune to the pinnacle of prosperity in less than two years following the July 2024 floods. Highlighting the February 1 greenhouse farm inauguration and Kim Jong Un’s visit, it claimed the Supreme Leader personally guided thousands of design plans.

The third page reported on the Musan Mining Complex’s production surge, boasting daily outputs exceeding 103%. It prominently featured Kim’s statement that when the Party calls, the people unite to create miracles, moving mountains and reclaiming seas – a testament to their revolutionary spirit.

Page 4 included an editorial advocating for the elimination of outdated practices across society. Authored by Seo Seong-beom, it quoted Kim: It cannot perpetuate old, obsolete relics. It must be bolder in overcoming backwardness and eliminating deficiencies. The piece argued that realizing the Party’s vision requires individuals willing to dedicate themselves unconditionally to initiatives that benefit the nation and improve people’s lives.

The fifth page showcased innovative production methods at the Muncheon Coal Mine. It described how a senior official personally inspected underground operations and reviewed scientific literature, leading to new coal seam discoveries. The mine manager emphasized that in this era of science and technology, production is inseparable from technical expertise.

Page 6 featured an editorial by Cha Su, asserting that the arts and literature sectors must champion the spirit of the 9th Party Congress. The paper argued that only by deeply internalizing Party policies, embracing their real-world impact, and staunchly defending them can artists create works that truly reflect the essence and aspirations of the times.
