Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a reply to North Korean Workers’ Party General Secretary Kim Jong Un on July 1, expressing his commitment to implement the agreements reached during their recent summit and to foster long-term, stable development of China-North Korea relations.

The North Korean Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published the full text of President Xi’s reply on page 3 on July 5.

In his response, Xi thanked Kim for his congratulatory message on the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China’s founding. He noted that both the Communist Party of China and the Workers’ Party of Korea are Marxist ruling parties.

Xi emphasized that for decades, the two parties have supported each other through thick and thin, sharing joys and sorrows while striving for national independence and liberation.

He also highlighted that both countries have progressed together in building socialism, driving continuous development of their parties and nations, and injecting strong momentum into the enduring China-North Korea friendship.

Xi mentioned his recent visit to North Korea, stating that he recently conducted a successful state visit to Korea. He expressed gratitude to Kim for the warm and friendly arrangements made for the visit.

The Chinese leader expressed his willingness to work with Kim in guiding relevant sectors and regions of both countries to effectively implement their important mutual understandings, ensuring that China-North Korea relations develop in a long-term, healthy, and stable manner.

He added that through these efforts, they aim to promote socialist development in both countries, enhance the welfare of their peoples, and contribute to peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and the world.

Earlier, on July 1, Kim sent a congratulatory message to Xi on the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China. Kim stated their intention to strengthen strategic communication and cooperation between the two parties and countries, and to further invigorate their friendly cooperative relationship.

Xi visited North Korea as a state guest from August 8 to 9, holding a summit with Kim. During their meeting, the leaders discussed the development of China-North Korea relations and international and regional situations, agreeing to strengthen strategic cooperation between their nations.
