On Thursday, North Korea condemned Israel for resuming military operations in the Gaza Strip, accusing it of blatantly attempting to move from territorial expansion to outright territory annexation.

The ruling Workers’ Party’s newspaper Rodong Sinmun, through a commentary from the Korean Central News Agency, asserted that Israel has made no effort to conceal its intention to completely dominate Palestine as a whole nation, not just a single region.

The newspaper also targeted the U.S., claiming that Israel’s territorial ambitions are inextricably linked to direct U.S. involvement.

Referencing the U.S. plan to rebuild Gaza Strip as a resort area, the commentary argued that this essentially amounts to an order for Israel to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, further stoking the desires of those who seek to consume all of Palestinian territory by any means necessary.

The article continued that the reckless military actions carried out by Israeli forces, backed by the U.S. in the Middle East, clearly demonstrate who the true destroyer of world peace and security is, and once again criticized the U.S.

Israel and Hamas failed to reach an agreement on the next phase of a ceasefire following an initial truce in early February. In mid-March, Israel resumed ground operations in Gaza Strip. Currently, Israel claims control over one-third of Gaza Strip’s territory and has stated its intention to permanently occupy these areas.
