Former White House Chief of Staff Woo Sang Ho met with Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of U.S. President Donald Trump, to convey President Lee Jae Myung’s intentions regarding advancing U.S.-South Korea relations.

According to sources within the ruling party on Wednesday, Woo, who recently announced his candidacy for governor of Gangwon Province in the upcoming June 3 local elections, delivered President Lee’s message to Eric Trump during a dinner at a Seoul hotel on Tuesday. The message expressed hope for Eric’s assistance in furthering U.S.-South Korea relations.

Woo reportedly also conveyed that President Lee aspires for the continued positive development of U.S.-South Korea relations and appreciates President Trump’s contributions to this end.

In a Facebook post, Woo characterized his meeting with Eric Trump as part of his broader efforts to explore various avenues for the future of Gangwon Province.

Eric Trump was in South Korea to attend the World Crypto Forum (WCF) 2026 held in Seoul.
