Prime Minister Kim Min-seok held an executive meeting during his overseas trip on March 15. He finalized the name of the United Nations (UN) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub Attraction Committee as the Global AI Hub Attraction Committee and instructed to expedite the establishment of regulations.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Kim chaired a video conference from the U.S. Mission to the UN in New York, with all executives from the Office for Government Policy Coordination and the Prime Minister’s Secretariat participating remotely.

This marks the first time the Prime Minister has conducted an executive meeting via video call while on a foreign trip. Kim is currently on a diplomatic mission to the United States and Switzerland, meeting with high-ranking U.S. officials including President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. His agenda includes discussions on attracting the UN AI Hub and meetings with heads of relevant organizations.

During the meeting, Kim received briefings on key issues from department heads and spent two hours reviewing major economic and social conditions while issuing directives.

Notably, he finalized the name of the committee for attracting the UN AI Hub as the Global AI Hub Attraction Committee and ordered the establishment of regulations.

Additionally, on this holiday, Kim met with former World Bank President Kim Yong to discuss U.S.-Korea health cooperation and support for attracting the AI Hub. He later visited the 9/11 Memorial to pay his respects to the victims.
