LA Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani had no hits during his recent game.

Playing as the designated hitter, Ohtani recorded five at-bats, no hits, and three strikeouts in the game against the San Francisco Giants held at Oracle Corporation Park in San Francisco, California on June 30. After hitting three home runs in the last four games and continuing his hit streak, Ohtani’s batting average dropped slightly to .316 (102 hits in 323 at-bats) after going hitless in this game.

Ohtani was out on a ground ball to first base in his first at-bat in the first inning and struck out in the third inning with one out when Enrique Hernandez hit a double to create a scoring opportunity.

Ohtani also struck out in the fifth inning with two outs and two runners on base when his team was trailing 1-9.

Ohtani ended the game with a flyout to right field in the eighth inning and a strikeout in the ninth. With Ohtani silent, the Dodgers were trounced 1-10 by the Giants. Dodgers’ starting pitcher James Paxton did not play well, pitching four innings, allowing twelve hits (one home run), two walks, four strikeouts, and nine earned runs, taking the loss. Paxton’s season record now stands at seven wins and two losses with a 4.28 ERA.

On the other hand, Giants’ starter Spencer Bivens pitched five innings, allowing four hits (one home run), striking out three, and allowing one run, recording his second win of the season (one loss).
