As the Paris 2024 Olympics’ opening ceremony approaches in two days, a supercomputer expects South Korea will finish 18th overall. The prediction includes 5 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, indicating a realistic outlook.

According to Inside the Games, the supercomputer OLBG anticipates South Korea will win 5 gold medals, one less than in the previous Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and expects to finish 18th overall.

It predicts that South Korea will earn a total of 16 medals, combining silver and bronze, which is also 4 fewer than the previous occasion.

The supercomputer anticipates the United States, which led the medal count in the last Olympics, will secure 39 gold medals again and clinch the top position overall.

Following the U.S., China will secure second place with 32 gold medals. In comparison, Great Britain is expected to take third with 26 gold medals, and Australia is forecasted to finish fourth with 21 gold medals.

Japan is projected to finish 5th place with 21 gold medals, 13 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals.

The host nation, France, is anticipated to secure 16 gold medals, 18 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals, placing them sixth overall. France had previously placed 10th in the Tokyo Olympics.

According to OLBG, the supercomputer executed its forecast process based on historical data from all Summer Olympics since 1896.
