Tom Kim, who placed 8th in the men’s golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has risen twice in the world rankings compared to last week.

According to the weekly men’s golf world rankings announced today, Kim moved from 20th to 18th.

He finished 8th with a total score of 13-under-par 271 over four rounds in the men’s golf competition at the Paris Olympics, which concluded on the 4th at Le Golf National (par 71) in Guyancourt, France. He trailed gold medalist Scottie Scheffler of the USA by six strokes, who finished at 19-under-par, and was four strokes behind third-place Matsuyama Hideki of Japan, who scored 17-under-par.

After falling to 20th place following a cut at The Open, Kim has returned to the top 20.

Although there is no prize money in Olympic golf, players earn world-ranking points.

Scottie Scheffler, who clinched the gold medal, maintained his lead throughout the competition. Meanwhile, silver medalist Tommy Fleetwood of England climbed from 14th to 11th.

Matsuyama, who took home the bronze medal, maintained his 12th place.

Among Korean players, Im Sung Jae, who did not participate in the Olympics, fell from 19th to 20th place, while An Byeong Hun, who finished 24th in the Olympics, remained in 32nd place.
