Kim Ye Ji, who won a silver medal in the 10m shooting event at the Paris Olympics, collapsed and lost consciousness during a press conference held around 11 a.m. today at the ImSil Shooting Range in North Jeolla Province.
ImSil County organized the event to welcome Kim, affiliated with the county office. It included a press conference.
While answering questions from reporters, Kim suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness. She regained consciousness after 10 minutes of CPR and emergency measures and was subsequently taken to hospital.
Gwak Min Soo, the coach of the ImSil County Shooting Team, stated, “Kim Ye Ji has not had a single day of rest since departing for Paris on July 12,” adding, “It seems to be due to tension and fatigue.”
He also mentioned, “This has never happened to her before,” and clarified, “She has no underlying health conditions. For now, we will take her to the hospital for a proper diagnosis.”
