Samsung Electronics will introduce its latest budget-friendly earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Fan Edition (FE) 2, in the latter half of this year. After a two-year hiatus, this release marks the company’s return to the affordable earbud market.

According to the Dutch tech news site Galaxy Club, Samsung is developing the Galaxy Buds FE2 under the model SM-R410.

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds lineup has two variants: a premium model and a more affordable FE (Fan Edition) version. The first Buds FE, launched in October 2023 under the model number SM-R400, gained popularity for its competitive pricing at 119,000 KRW (approximately $82). It still offers high-end features such as active noise cancellation (ANC), beamforming technology utilizing three microphones, and AI-powered noise reduction. These earbuds were inspired by the 2020 Galaxy Buds+ while matching the capabilities of the 2021 Galaxy Buds2.

Industry insiders expect the upcoming Galaxy Buds FE2 to offer a similar performance profile to its predecessors in the Galaxy Buds series.

While Galaxy Club couldn’t provide an exact launch date, it noted that development appears to be in advanced stages, with firmware already in the works. The publication speculates that these new earbuds could be released alongside other Fan Edition devices like the Galaxy Z Flip FE or Galaxy Tab S10 FE, likely in the summer or fall.
