
Samsung Electronics has clinched the top spot in both smartphone and smartwatch categories of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), a key measure of customer satisfaction in the U.S. Industry reports indicate that on Thursday, Samsung Electronics tied with Apple for first place in the overall 2025 ACSI smartphone category, scoring 81 points in overall satisfaction. Google and Motorola trailed behind, each scoring 75 points. In the 5G smartphone segment, Samsung Electronics maintained its solo lead from last year, edging out Apple with a consumer satisfaction score of 82 points compared to Apple’s 81.

Samsung Electronics also dominated the newly introduced smartwatch category, securing the top position with an overall satisfaction score of 83 points, outperforming Apple by three points. The ACSI, established in 1994, is a comprehensive customer satisfaction benchmark for products and services across the U.S. economy. This year’s survey results reflect feedback from thousands of American consumers, evaluating their satisfaction with purchased products, service quality, and overall service experience from April of the previous year through March of the current year.
