LG Uplus announced on Thursday that its internet protocol television (IPTV) service, U+tv, has been awarded the main prize in the Brand & Communication Design category at the 2025 Red Dot Design Awards.

The Red Dot Design Awards are renowned as one of the world’s top three design competitions, alongside the iF Design Awards and the IDEA Design Awards. Each year, a panel of industry experts evaluates entries across three categories—product design, design concepts, and brand & communication design—judging them on design excellence, creativity, and functionality to determine the winners.

This year, LG Uplus clinched the award in the Interaction & Customer Experience Design category. The Red Dot Awards committee praised the user experience (UX) design of U+tv, noting how it seamlessly integrates with the service’s diverse content offerings to deliver a unique customer experience.

LG Uplus continues to enhance its UX by implementing artificial intelligence (AI)-powered interactive agents for its IPTV service. These improvements aim to provide users with clear, concise access to essential information as they navigate through content.

Kim Hyun-min, UX Manager at LG Uplus’s Customer Experience (CX) Center, commented on the achievement that this recognition is the culmination of years of thoughtful development and evolution in creating their customer-centric UX style guide. Further noting that they’re committed to pushing boundaries, aiming to offer U+tv users innovative and streamlined UX designs that not only enhance functionality but also bring a sense of visual delight to their viewing experience.
