The Galaxy S26’s Horizon Lock feature is mind-blowing! Samsung Electronics unveiled its new Galaxy S26 on February 25, and the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature has been creating a buzz ever since.

According to industry insiders on Tuesday, a wave of challenges has swept across social media platforms, spearheaded by tech influencers and YouTubers, showcasing the Galaxy S26’s groundbreaking camera feature, Horizon Lock Super Steady.

This innovative feature takes the existing Super Steady stabilization to new heights, offering unparalleled shake correction during video recording.

While the previous Galaxy S25 relied solely on a gyroscope for footage stabilization, the Galaxy S26 now incorporates an accelerometer to calculate gravity’s direction in real-time.

This enhancement allows the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature to maintain a level horizon even when the smartphone rotates 360 degrees, mimicking the performance of a professional gimbal.

Tech journalists have gone as far as describing it as having a digital gimbal built into the smartphone.

When the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature is activated during video recording, the subject remains upright and stable, even during rapid smartphone rotations. Flipping the device upside down results in only minimal shake.

As the Galaxy S26 series launch approaches, tech reviewers and influencers with early access to the device have been sharing videos of their creative stress tests.

These tech enthusiasts have been pushing the Galaxy S26 Ultra to its limits, with stunts like securing it to car wheels during drives or attaching it to spinning fans, yielding impressive results that showcase the feature’s capabilities.

Unlike the previously discussed Privacy Display, the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature isn’t limited to the Galaxy S26 Ultra; it’s available across the entire S26 lineup, including the standard and Plus models.

Current Galaxy smartphone users are hopeful that future software updates, such as One UI, will bring the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature to older models like the Galaxy S25.

Given that the Galaxy S series typically includes both gyroscope and accelerometer sensors, implementing this feature on previous models is technically feasible, unlike the specialized display panel required for the Privacy Display.

Historically, Samsung Electronics has rolled out artificial intelligence (AI) and software enhancements to older models through One UI updates, typically some time after new product launches.

However, a Samsung Electronics spokesperson stated that at this time, there are no confirmed plans to support the Horizon Lock Super Steady feature on older models.
