
SK Telecom reported on Friday that it achieved significant success at MWC26 in Barcelona, Spain, drawing considerable attention from attendees, international organizations, media outlets, and global corporations.
The company established a substantial 992-square-meter (about 10,688-square-foot) exhibition space in Hall 3 of the Fira Gran Via, the primary exhibition area that attracts the most visitors.
Within this space, SK Telecom showcased 27 items across various zones, including artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure (AI data centers, network AI, marketing AI), AI models, AI services, and the AI ecosystem.
SK Telecom reported a constant flow of visitors eager to explore and experience the company’s full-stack AI capabilities, encompassing AI infrastructure, models, and services. The exhibition drew a total of 75,000 visitors over four days.
A striking display featuring five large transparent light-emitting diode (LED) Infinite Portals (totaling 84 square meters or about 904 square feet) captivated attendees’ attention.
Visitors queued up at an interactive zone where they could grasp the concept of full-stack AI through an engaging remote-controlled forklift driving game.
The exhibition also garnered significant interest from major international research institutions and global information technology (IT) media. Analysts and journalists from leading global research organizations and IT publications, including Omdia, IDC, Analysys Mason, and Counterpoint Research, visited the exhibition to meet with SK Telecom executives and learn about the company’s progress and vision for AI data centers and sovereign AI.
The company also engaged in collaboration discussions with various domestic and international firms.
On the opening day, SK Telecom hosted a conference on AI data centers, attended by executives from global telecom companies such as Singtel Digital InfraCo, e& international, and NTT, as well as AI data center solution providers like Rebellion and MangoBoost. The conference introduced sovereign AI package strategies and explored collaboration opportunities in AI data centers.
SK Telecom also formed strategic partnerships to enhance its AI data center capabilities.
The company signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with global server manufacturer Supermicro and leading AI data center solution provider Schneider Electric to explore innovative ways to reduce the time and cost of building AI data centers.
Additionally, SK Telecom agreed to collaborate with Panasia, a leader in computing resource connectivity, to develop innovative structures and address inefficiencies in AI data centers.
SK Telecom also focused on promoting global growth opportunities for startups. The company set up a dedicated exhibition space for startups at 4YFN, a side event of MWC26, showcasing 15 promising startups in the AI and environmental, social and governance (ESG) sectors. Furthermore, they organized an investment pitch event for startups, inviting key representatives from major European venture capital firms.
The company’s efforts were recognized at the prestigious GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2026, where it won the Best Cloud Solution award for its B200-based graphic processing unit (GPU) cluster, Haein.
Kwon Young-sang, Head of SK Telecom’s Communications Support Division, stated that the presence at MWC26 effectively demonstrated SK Telecom’s full-stack AI capabilities on the global stage. It will continue to leverage international exhibitions to showcase the value of SK Telecom’s AI and create new connections and opportunities in the industry.
