Google LLC said on the 26th (local time) it has rolled out “Search Live,” a new search service that allows users to point a smartphone camera at their surroundings and interact with artificial intelligence (AI) in real time to find information, in more than 200 countries including Asia.

Search Live is powered by Google’s latest voice AI model, “Gemini 3.1 Flash Live.” When typing is inconvenient or describing a situation with words is difficult, users can simply point their smartphone camera at their surroundings, allowing the AI to analyze the scene in real time and provide tailored suggestions and solutions.

Users can conduct interactive searches through voice and video, similar to conversing with an expert. For example, if a plant’s leaves change condition, users can launch Search Live and point the camera at the leaves to receive immediate care guidance, or ask in real time whether the plant is safe for pets.

Tapping the newly added “Live” icon at the bottom of the Google app’s search bar starts a conversation with Search Live immediately. Users receive voice responses to their queries and can continue with follow-up questions.

Users can also explore more in-depth information through web links provided alongside responses. The service can also be accessed via the “Live” tab at the bottom of the Google Lens screen.

Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which powers Search Live’s advanced capabilities, delivers faster response speeds and improved stability, enabling natural, human-like interaction.

It also features built-in multilingual capabilities, allowing seamless conversations in Asian language.

The feature is supported on both Android and Apple Inc.’s iOS operating systems and has been officially launched in more than 200 countries where Google’s AI Mode is available.
