OpenAI has introduced a new ChatGPT Pro subscription plan priced at 100 USD per month, responding to the increasing demand for its coding assistant, Codex, the company announced on Friday.
This new Pro tier caters to developers tackling more extensive and intricate coding projects, as well as power users who frequently leverage Codex.
The plan boasts up to five times the Codex usage compared to the existing ChatGPT Plus subscription, unlimited access to the Instant and Thinking models, and full availability of all features in the Pro-exclusive model.
This latest offering focuses on delivering practical coding capabilities in high-intensity work environments, enabling users to write, modify, debug, and test code with greater flexibility.
ChatGPT’s subscription options have also been expanded. The current 20 USD monthly ChatGPT Plus plan remains as the standard option for everyday use.
The newly introduced $100 USD monthly Pro plan serves as an additional tier for tasks demanding higher usage levels. The existing 200 USD monthly Pro plan continues to be available as the premium option for users requiring maximum usage.
Meanwhile, Codex’s weekly user base has surged past 3 million globally. This figure represents a fivefold increase over the past quarter, with usage spiking by over 70% compared to the previous month, indicating rapid adoption and growth.
