Samsung Electronics announced on Tuesday that it held a home appliance technology seminar called The Brief Milan at its showroom in Milan, Italy, targeting major local media and influencers.

During the event, Samsung focused on showcasing high-efficiency artificial intelligence (AI) appliances and features like the AI Energy Saving Mode, specifically designed for energy-conscious European consumers, emphasizing its strategy to penetrate the European market.

At the event, Samsung introduced a range of washing machines that meet the European energy efficiency standard of grade A. This tailored strategy aims to appeal to European consumers who prioritize energy efficiency.

The Bespoke AI Washing Machine features the AI Customized Washing+ function, which uses AI to automatically detect the weight, type, and level of soiling of laundry, optimizing the washing process and achieving an additional 65% reduction in energy consumption compared to grade A standards.

Additionally, the Bespoke AI Dryer and the all-in-one washing and drying machine, Bespoke AI Combo, also received an energy efficiency rating of grade A.

Notably, when connected to SmartThings and operated in AI Energy Saving Mode, the Bespoke AI Washing Machine can save up to 70% more energy, while the Bespoke AI Dryer can save up to 20%. The Bespoke AI Combo can reduce energy usage by up to 60% during washing and up to 30% during drying.

Samsung also showcased built-in kitchen appliances that seamlessly blend design and performance, catering to European living spaces.

The event featured a new Hood Integrated Induction product that supports the European energy efficiency grade of A+. This product incorporates a hood in the center of the induction cooktop, effectively removing smoke and odors generated during cooking.

Moreover, the Bespoke AI Dishwasher on display saves an additional 20% more energy than the European energy efficiency standard of grade A, featuring a built-in design that harmonizes with kitchen spaces.

The Bespoke AI Refrigerator with One Door utilizes Space Max technology to maintain a compact exterior that fits well in kitchen environments while offering a spacious interior of 387 liters. It also includes an Auto Open Door feature for easy access with just a touch. This model maximizes cold air retention with a metal design and features AI Constant Temperature technology, which analyzes usage patterns to minimize temperature fluctuations inside the refrigerator.

The Built-in Top Freezer/Bottom Freezer (BMF) Refrigerator also provides a large capacity of up to 298 liters through Space Max technology. When used in AI Energy Saving Mode connected to SmartThings, it can save up to 15% of energy.

Additionally, Samsung displayed the Bespoke AI Family Hub refrigerator, which features a 21.5-inch large touchscreen and an internal camera that provides real-time recognition of ingredient inventory. This model can also reduce energy consumption by up to 10% when AI Energy Saving Mode is set through SmartThings.

Jong-Seung Moon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Digital Appliances (DA) Division, stated that Samsung will actively target the European market by strengthening its lineup of high-efficiency built-in AI appliances tailored to European lifestyles.
