Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), attended the Build a Claw event at Seoul National University on Monday, sharing artificial intelligence (AI) industry insights and exploring collaboration opportunities with students.

Huang arrived at the Hae-dong Advanced Engineering Hall around 12:06 p.m. (Korean time), greeted by enthusiastic cheers from over 1,000 students who had been eagerly waiting since early morning.

He engaged with students, signing autographs and mentioning K-Beauty, K-Pop, and K-Claw. NVIDIA is innovating by integrating its solutions into OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent framework.

Donning his iconic black leather jacket, Huang addressed the crowd: He’s envious of the students. They’re graduating at an ideal time, with incredible opportunities on the horizon.

He continued that they’re already experts in leveraging AI technology. In the future, AI will revolutionize semiconductor chip and machine design, energy exploration, life sciences, and drug research.

Praising Korea’s excellence in electronics, manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and cloud technology, Huang predicted the country’s pivotal role in the future robotics industry. NVIDIA is currently partnering with major Korean corporations to advance robotics technology through physical AI.

Creating future robots requires exceptional skills in electronics, mechanical engineering, AI, and cloud technology, Huang explained. Korea excels in all these areas, making it truly unique.

Lightening the mood, Huang quipped, K-Pop, K-Culture, K-Drama, and even K-Fried Chicken are fantastic! When students chanted “K-Jensen,” he playfully responded that next time, call him K-Jensen!

Following his speech, Huang raffled off high-end AI chips, including two DGX-1 units and one RTX Spark, to three lucky students.

Noticing all winners were female engineering students, Huang remarked that looks like women are dominating in Korea! He added that it’s fascinating to see that in Korea, the proportion of female researchers in AI and robotics often surpasses that of males.

The event concluded with Huang swapping his leather jacket for a Seoul National University jacket, gifted by President Yoo Hong-rim. The two posed for selfies, arm-in-arm.

The Build a Claw event, co-hosted by NVIDIA and Seoul National University, offered hands-on experience in designing and building autonomous AI agents using NVIDIA’s open-source framework.
