As generative artificial intelligence (AI)-powered malware continues to proliferate, AhnLab’s endpoint security solution V3 has achieved top marks in a global security performance evaluation.
AhnLab announced on Thursday that its security solution V3 earned the highest A+ certification in the June VB100 certification test by global security assessment organization Virus Bulletin, boasting a perfect 100% malware detection rate.
VB100 is a globally recognized security certification that assesses Windows-based endpoint security products’ ability to combat real-world malware threats. It serves as a benchmark for evaluating both detection rates and accuracy, providing insight into a product’s core detection capabilities and reliability.
In this evaluation, V3 successfully identified all malware in the Certification Set, a validation dataset comprising actual circulating threats. The solution also met the stringent criteria for minimizing false positives, avoiding misclassification of legitimate files as malicious.
For security products, achieving high malware detection rates is crucial, but equally important is the ability to accurately distinguish between malicious and benign files. Only when a product excels in both detection rates and false positive mitigation can it be considered truly effective for real-world deployment.
AhnLab reports that V3 was the sole major domestic security firm to achieve both a flawless 100% detection rate and an A+ rating in this evaluation.
Yang Ha-young, head of AhnLab’s AhnLab Security intelligence Center (ASEC), commented that this perfect score certification validates the product’s fundamental security capabilities. It demonstrates V3’s proficiency in accurately detecting real-world malware while maintaining a low false positive rate for legitimate files. It remains committed to further enhancing the AI-driven analytical capabilities.
