Samsung Electronics announced on Monday that it showcased new educational solutions for its interactive displays at International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Live, North America’s largest educational technology exhibition. The event took place at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida, from June 28 for four days.

ISTE Live, organized by the International Society for Technology in Education, brings together over 500 companies from more than 80 countries and approximately 17,000 education professionals to share cutting-edge educational technologies and future learning trends.

At the exhibition, Samsung unveiled several innovations, including the Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS) for creating personalized learning environments, and the Samsung Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assistant App, designed to enhance focus and accessibility in education.

These solutions are compatible with Samsung’s current lineup of Android-based interactive displays.

Interactive displays combine touchscreen technology with personal computer (PC) systems, allowing users to write directly on the screen and manipulate digital content freely. They’re widely used in educational settings and corporate environments to facilitate digital transformation and efficient collaboration through features like wireless connectivity and content saving capabilities.

The Samsung Account Management Solution uses cloud-based technology to manage personal profiles, allowing teachers to log in securely and easily by scanning QR codes or tapping NFC cards. This feature enables quick access to personalized settings.

The solution’s Home Personalization feature lets teachers customize their screen layout, wallpaper, bookmarks, and app shortcuts.

Teachers can access their personalized home screen and saved materials in any classroom, ensuring a consistent teaching environment. This personalization improves usability in shared settings, addressing the challenges of multiple teachers using the same devices.

To streamline the management of the Samsung Account Management Solution, Samsung also offers an information technology (IT) administrator portal for educational institutions.

IT administrators can use this portal to register and manage information for hundreds of devices and teacher accounts simultaneously. They can also link NFC card information to each teacher’s account in one step.

The Samsung Account Management Solution will be available through a software update starting in July.

The Samsung AI Assistant App, integrated into Samsung’s Android-based interactive displays, offers various features to boost learning engagement and facilitate teacher-student interaction.

New functionalities include Circle to Search, which finds relevant information by circling images or text on the screen; Live Transcript, which converts speech to text in real-time; AI Summary, which automatically summarizes lesson content; and AI Quiz, which helps reinforce learning.

Kim Hyung-jae, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, stated that as digital education evolves, innovation must focus on user experience, not just hardware. Its goal is to provide a more adaptable and seamless learning environment for both educators and students with Samsung’s interactive displays.
