Samsung Electronics announced on Monday that it showcased new educational solutions for its interactive displays at ISTE Live, North America’s largest educational technology exhibition. The event took place from June 28 for four days at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) in Orlando, Florida.

ISTE Live, organized by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), brings together over 500 companies and approximately 17,000 education professionals from more than 80 countries to share cutting-edge educational technologies and future learning trends.

At the exhibition, Samsung unveiled several innovative solutions, including the Samsung Account Management Solution (AMS) for creating personalized learning environments for educators, and the Samsung Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assistant App designed to boost student engagement and improve educational accessibility.

These solutions are compatible with Samsung’s current lineup of Android-based interactive displays.

Interactive displays are smart devices that combine touchscreen technology with personal computer (PC) systems, allowing users to write directly on the screen and manipulate digital audiovisual content freely. They are widely used in educational settings and corporate environments to facilitate digital transformation and efficient collaboration, offering features such as wireless connectivity with various devices and the ability to save written content.

The Samsung Account Management Solution uses cloud-based technology to manage individual profiles, enabling teachers to log in securely and conveniently by simply scanning a QR code or tapping an NFC card. This allows educators to easily access their personalized settings.

The solution’s Home Personalization feature lets teachers customize their screen layout, background, bookmarks, and app shortcuts according to their preferences.

Even when moving between classrooms, teachers can access their personal home screens and saved learning materials, ensuring a consistent teaching environment. This personalization feature addresses the inconvenience of shared devices in classrooms, allowing multiple teachers to use the displays as if they were their own personal devices.

To streamline the management of the Samsung Account Management Solution, Samsung also provides the Samsung Education Portal for information technology (IT) administrators in educational institutions.

Through this portal, IT administrators can bulk register and manage information for hundreds of devices and teacher accounts. They can also simultaneously link NFC card information to each teacher’s account.

The Samsung Account Management Solution will be available for implementation in products starting in July through a software update.

The Samsung AI Assistant App is a built-in solution for Samsung’s Android-based interactive displays. It offers a range of features designed to enhance student focus and facilitate teacher-student interaction.

New functionalities include Circle to Search, which provides relevant information and content when users draw a circle around images or text on the screen; Live Transcript, which converts the teacher’s voice into text in real-time; AI Summary, which automatically summarizes lesson content; and AI Quiz, which helps reinforce learning.

Kim Hyung-jae, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, emphasized that as digital learning environments become more sophisticated, innovation centered on user experience is crucial, not just device capabilities. The educational interactive displays aim to provide a more adaptable and seamless learning environment for both educators and students.
