NHN announced on the 7th that it hosted a technology sharing event called Agentic Day as part of its internal AI transformation (AX) initiative.

The event, held on July 2 at the Play Museum in NHN’s Pangyo headquarters, drew over 600 employees from NHN, NHN Cloud, and NHN Dooray.

Agentic Day served as a platform for NHN staff to showcase their innovative use of AI agents in various business areas, highlighting improved efficiency and practical outcomes. The event aimed to inspire employees to embrace AI technology and foster an AI agent-driven work culture within the company.

During his keynote address, newly appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Yang Cheol-woong stressed that creating a secure ecosystem where AI seamlessly integrates all internal data and knowledge, backed by robust security measures, is crucial for the next phase of growth.

Yang outlined NHN’s AX strategy, stating that they’re committed to leveraging AI to enhance security from the development stage onward, ensuring it delivers increasingly secure products and services to the customers.

A veteran with over two decades of experience in internet infrastructure, traffic optimization, networking, security, and cloud technology, Yang was brought on board last month to spearhead the group’s AI transformation (AX) initiatives.

The event was structured into three main areas: presentations, demo booths, and an AI tutorial zone. NHN employees embraced the festive atmosphere, freely exploring presentations of interest and getting hands-on experience with AI agent-based services.

A highlight of the presentation session was the debut demonstration of an internal shared security vulnerability assessment service, developed by the NHN Cloud Security Development Lab. This innovative tool is set to be piloted within NHN Cloud before a broader rollout across the entire group.

In a related move, NHN has ramped up its internal AX efforts by implementing Anthropic’s Claude AI across the company since July 1.
